Every girl has essential products that they just can’t be without. Here are mine...
Any Jo Malone Candle is a base essential for me. I tend to have about 3-4 in my house, as they are probably the only candle that has a scent the lingers, and are just too darn good not to use.
Dry, faded locks are a casualty of colouring-wars : unavoidable, but manageable with the correct tools. This hydrating beauty enables me to keep sane and avoid the dehydrating effects of colouring, and is the perfect solution to over-styling.
I suffer from the dreaded dry-skin plague. It is quite honestly, troubling. I also am covered in stretch marks - a side effect of puberty and having shit quality skin. Thank heavens for this delectable german body oil - a saving grace for dry patches and my poor quality skin. Sure, it doesn’t get rid of the stretch marks, but it helps to improve the texture of my skin, help to reduce further ones from coming on and mops up any dry patches in an instance - hence why I use it everyday.
This pepperminty cleanser is my night-time ‘must-use’ thanks to its ability to deep-clean, decongest and refresh my skin.
I love the smell of Lavender and I love an intense conditioner. Every week, I use a hydrating mask in my locks, but I have found, that with constant use of this intensely rich conditioner, that I have to use said masks a lot less frequently - not to mention, but locks smell like heaven days afterwards.
Paleness runs in my British-clad veins. Suntanning is NEVER an option. This is why, I fake it till I make it. This bronzer has been a staple of mine for years now, and lasts a butt load longer thanks to its rich colour, that is easily blend able, and goes a long way.
Everyone has an every day scent- this bad-boy is mine. Rich in gardenia and aqua mist, this elegant scent radiates luxury (minus the hefty price tag) in its explosive garden fresh bouquet of nasal-nirvance. Featured in a classic glass bottle with a collar wrapped in leather - it adds a little extravagance to my day.
I actually own 5 Marc Jacobs fragrance, but this is by far my favourite. You literally cannot go wrong with an MJ scent.
I am a sucker for Pure Fiji products. They make the perfect gift, and are just plain awesome in general. I have been hooked on their sugar scrubs for year, and may have been caught purchasing 6 scrubs for myself in the past, because I was not sure which scent to go with. Now, I no longer have to worry - I have found my calling in the White Gingerlilly scrub!
This delicious, smoothing scrub wont dry out your skin, removes all the gunk and is the perfect solution to my Sunday night beautifying ritual.
Hi, my name is Lucy, and I am a double cleanser. You may notice I can’t live without two cleansers, and my dirty (or not so dirty) habit of double cleanser is the reason. This delicious oil cleanser is the perfect pre-cleanser for stubborn make-up, minus the stinging eyes usual make-up remover leaves. Delicate on the skin, this oil is perfect for my moody skin, and leaves no residue.
I picked mine up from an overseas jaunt, but you can grab yours from David Jones.
We aren’t all blessed with even skin tone. But, if you are into the art of trickery (like I am), this super primer will have them all fooled that you are too, in fact, genetically blessed with beautiful skin. This superhero in disguise lays the base for foundation, and will perfect blemish marks and discolouration and brighten the complexion instantly. You can imagine why I am a slave to this beauty everyday- fooling everyone in to thinking I wake up this refreshed since 2013!
Stressed, dry skin doesn’t stand a chance with this hydrating and cooling beauty. Now on constant reapply every Sunday, this rich, youth-boosting masque has helped up the hydration level of my severely moody skin, and is perfect for pre-event pep ups!
I am pretty blessed in the eyelash front, but only when mascara is applied. So, you could say, I am a big mascara coneussier! This long-lasting mascara is my everyday essential, to open up my lashes, elongate and thicken (but not too dramatically). I have never had so many compliment since I started using this beauty - a lot of people have thought I have eyelash extensions on. I just quickly reply with- Clinique Lash Power Mascara.. they are hooked soon after too!
I know I have already mentioned that I am not pregnant, but littered with stretch marks (the bane of my existence), but I would like to reiterate - it is the truth, and I am truly anal about preventing further ones from developing. Gaia makes some of the most delightful, all-natural products around (I have written about their cream before), and I have head-over-heels in love with their Belly Oil. Designed for pregnant women to prevent stretch marks (minus the nasty ingredients), this rich oil has become a daily essential of mine for rubbing on my breasts and hips to prevent them horrible white marks creeping up any higher.
If I had to live off just this one body product for the rest of my life, I would be more than content.
I wear a form of sunscreen everyday,, but on weekends, I wear SPF by itself, as I have a tendency to not wear make up on the weekend. This is where my favourite sun protection wear comes in handy. This matte, oil free beauty is my saving grace for running errands, in winter when I have Sunday soccer matches and for when I want to catch up on my weekly dose of Vitamin D. Dermalogica is my go-to for quality facial sunscreen.
I love SPF - like seriously, I would be deluded if I didn’t use it everyday, and I am also a massive fan on L’Occitane Immortelle collection (as written about here and here). So, it is no surprise this cobalt tub of youth is my everyday moisturiser.
Not only is it hydrating, but it helps smooth, soothe and tone my (ageing) skin. I am a big believer that prevention is key, hence my strict attitude towards anti-ageing creams at a young age. Slather up now (at 25), and reap the rewards later.
What are your everyday necessities?
