PACKING FOR A WEEKEND GETAWAY

With my job, I travel a fair bit, so I am almost a pro at packing (note: almost!). A weekend getaway is a rare occurrence for me, but when I do have a spare two days to get away, I make sure it involves pampering, a bikini and lots of red wine!

Here are my never fail weekend getaway goodies

Exercise gear
So I can stay healthy, and burn off all the wine and chocolate (Lululemon Engage Bra $59)

Minimal Make up

Mood enhancers

Pampering essentials
Cause every gal needs some 'me' time, I make sure I have all my essentials on hand.

Bio Oil for stretch marks

A good read
Optimum Nutrition made easy by Patrick Holford is a great read for those wanting to overhaul their eating habits, and realise that eating should be about nourishing your body.

Hair Basics
Get rid of the hair straightener and anything too ickle-pickle, and just get back to the basics. Embrace the bed hair and if oil pops in, soothe it with some David Babaii Miracle Volume Instant Hair Volumising Powder.

Essential scents
Just because you are going remote, and don't plan on running in to anybody, doesn't mean you have the right to stink for the whole weekend. You aren't going to make any friends smelling like you slept on the streets last night, so make sure you pack a crowd friendly scent. My favourite, never fail perfume is Miss Dior Cherie. Sweet, sexy and subtle.

Accessories
No need to get all fancy when you will probably be only running in to your own reflection. This doesn't mean you need to pack just your undies, because god knows something will come up and you will need emergency accessories aid. In this instant, pack an accessory that you know will go with anything. My never fail accessory is a necklace. I go this beauty from Topshop at the beginning of last year, and it always packs a punch.

Sunscreen
No matter how cloudy the outdoors might be, SPF is essential when living in Australia. I can't re-iterate enough how important it is to slip, slop slap. Skin cancer is deadly, and I have witnessed first hand the disastrous effects it can have. Throw in at least a sunscreen that works for you. Banana Boat is a great Australian sunscreen that gets the Aussie climate. My top pick: Banana Boat Sensitive SPF 30.

What do you pack for your weekends away?

    1. Oh glad I could. I used to struggle packing my bags (when I moved to Austria I had 35 kgs plus 20 kg carry on eek). So when I started flying for work, i became a pretty decent packer and culler ha!!
